iGaming Ontario market performance report now available by month

Starting today, iGaming Ontario is pleased to begin sharing its market performance reports every month, rather than once a quarter. 

iGaming Ontario reports wagers and gaming revenue by product category (casino, betting and peer-to-peer poker) for all Operators with trading activity since the market’s launch on April 4, 2022,1 broken down by month. 

New file format, updated each month

The data is now available as an ingestible multi-tab Excel file that is refreshed with new data each month and features visual snapshots of the last 13 months on a rolling basis. 

Today’s release includes figures up to December 31, 2024, the end of iGaming Ontario’s third quarter (Q3) of fiscal year 2024-25.

A summary of the results for Q3 is below. Refer to the monthly market performance report for a more granular breakdown by month.

  • Total wagers of $22.7 billion, which does not include promotional wagers (bonuses), is a 22% increase over last quarter and a 32% increase over Q3 of last year.
  • Total gaming revenue of $825.8 million shows a 10% increase over last quarter and a 25% increase over Q3 of last year. This figure represents total cash wagers, including rake fees, tournament fees, and other fees, across all Operators, minus player winnings derived from cash wagers and does not take into account operating costs or other liabilities.
  • There were 50 Operators with 83 gaming websites with gaming activity in Q3. See the up-to-date list of Operators and gaming sites.
  •  Casino games, including slots, live and computer-based table games and peer-to-peer bingo, accounted for $18.9 billion (83%) of total wagers and $644 million (78%) of gaming revenue.
  • Betting, including on sports, esports, proposition and novelty bets, as well as exchange betting, accounted for $3.4 billion (15%) of total wagers and $166 million (20%) of gaming revenue.
  • Peer-to-peer (P2P) poker accounted for $418 million (1.8%) of total wagers and $16 million (1.9%) of gaming revenue.
