This iGaming Ontario market performance report covers the second quarter (Q2) of the 2024-25 fiscal year (FY), from July 1 to September 30, 2024. This report includes information on all Operators with gaming websites that had trading activity during that period.

To expand on the data above: 

  • Total wagers of $18.7 billion, which does not include promotional wagers (bonuses), is a 1.6% increase over last quarter and a 31.7% increase over Q2 of last year.
  • Total gaming revenue of $738 million shows a 1.7% increase over last quarter and a 35.4% increase over Q2 of last year. This figure represents total cash wagers, including rake fees, tournament fees, and other fees, across all Operators, minus player winnings derived from cash wagers and does not take into account operating costs or other liabilities.
  • There were 51 Operators with 83 gaming websites with gaming activity in Q2. See the up-to-date list of Operators and gaming sites.
  • More than 1.32 million player accounts were active during Q2. Active player accounts are accounts with cash and/or promotional wagering activity during the time period and do not represent unique players as individuals may have accounts with multiple Operators.
  • The average monthly spend per active player account was $308.
  •  Casino games, including slots, live and computer-based table games and peer-to-peer bingo, accounted for $16 billion (86%) of total wagers and $553 million (75%) of gaming revenue.
  • Betting, including on sports, esports, proposition and novelty bets, as well as exchange betting, accounted for $2.2 billion (12%) of total wagers and $167 million (23%) of gaming revenue.
  • Peer-to-peer (P2P) poker accounted for $417 million (2.2%) of total wagers and $18 million (2.4%) of gaming revenue.  

As part of its commitment to sharing aggregate revenue and market insight reports, iGaming Ontario intends to continue releasing, at minimum, a market report on a quarterly basis.
